Description

Stearic Acid is 100% derived from vegetable fats and oils. It is available in different physical forms such as Powder or Beads and various grades.

Applications:

  • As an excipient for pharmaceutical products. Functioning as lubricant to prevent ingredients from clumping together and from sticking to the tablet punchers or capsule filling machines. Lubricant also ensures that tablet formation and ejection can occur with low friction between solid and die wall.
  • As an emollient for cosmetic preparations used for protecting, moisturizing, and lubricating the skin.
  • As an ingredient in making candles, plastics, dietary supplements and cosmetics. It is sometimes used as soap hardener.
  • In fireworks, Stearic Acid is often used to coat metal powder such as aluminium and iron to prevent oxidation.
  • Hardener in candies.
  • As lubricant during injection moulding and pressing ceramic powders.
